Avacend is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a travel opportunity in the ICU/IMCU. This role involves providing expert nursing care in a fast-paced, specialized perioperative environment with exposure to multiple surgical specialties. The ideal candidate will be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team and participate in a rotating on-call schedule while delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized plans of care
• Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative and critical care nursing
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams
• Coordinate and document patient care accurately and timely
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to surgical standards
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies
• Educate patients and families about care and procedures
• Float among various surgical specialties based on departmental needs
• Follow all facility policies, procedures, and professional standards
• Participate in the rotating on-call schedule and manage self-selected call dates

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma
• At least 2 years of operating room nursing experience
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in perioperative nursing
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficiency in clinical documentation
• Effective teamwork and communication skills
• Time management and emergency response expertise
• Experience as an OR circulating nurse or in surgical nursing
