3304 Parkside Avenue | Lake Station IN 46405-1143 Lake Station Community Schools is seeking a Dean of Students for assignment at Thomas A. Edison Junior Senior High School.
The Dean of Students is responsible for overseeing student life, and discipline in a 6-12 grade school setting. This role involves collaborating with school leadership, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and enriching environment for students Education and/or Experience:
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the school corporation.

The Dean of Students is responsible for overseeing student life, and discipline in a 6-12 grade school setting. This role involves collaborating with school leadership, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and enriching environment for students Education and/or Experience:
- Possess an Indiana teacher's license (preferred).
- Supervision/leadership experience in a K-12 education environment.
- Previous experience teaching in a Junior High/Middle School or High School (preferred).
- Possess the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, administrators and the public.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of students, faculty, and parents.
- Commitment to fostering a positive school culture and student development.
- Good organization and computer skills.
- 185 days per contract year.
- Oversee day-to-day disciplinary issues, working closely with administration, faculty, and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student behavior concerns.
- Supervision of extra-curricular events during evenings and weekends.
- Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions and parent communication.
- Provide facilities management support.
- Any other duties assigned by administration.
- Commensurate with education and experience
