Licensed Practical Nurse

Overview The Forensic Nursing Home is seeking Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) applicants to perform entry-level practical nurse duties while providing quality therapeutic and person-centered care to people with mental and physical health issues. Under the direction of the charge nurse, work is performed according to established rules and procedures. Entry-level LPN duties may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities. Responsibilities Administer medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client. Assist the client in developing optimal independence in living or assist with activities of daily living as needed. Complete assigned unit tasks and maintain accurate documentation. Monitor, report, and document interactions with clients; collect and report data about physical and mental health needs; assist the RN in planning and implementing the nursing plan of care and/or multidisciplinary plans. Respond to emergencies promptly to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Maintain professional boundaries and support a positive, diverse, and respectful environment. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an approved school of nursing. Current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse. Future Practical Nurses within six (6) months of graduating and taking the NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent offers may be made upon successful degree completion and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
