Imaging PET/CT Tech

Overview Annual Salary (depending on skills/experience): $71.00 - $107.00. Five open positions located in Antioch, Dublin, Hayward, Emeryville, and Pleasant Hill. Scope Under general supervision, performs diagnostic PET/CT and CT imaging procedures and related functions. Collaborates with Medical Director and Supervisor on technical issues, equipment performance and QA. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities Performs diagnostic PET/CT or CT imaging procedures, including injection of radiopharmaceuticals and/or IV contrast, administration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, image reconstruction, film recording, network image transfers, and archiving of image data. Assists in procedure scheduling and related front‑office functions to ensure a smooth workflow. Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution, and patient files. Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow‑up and development of teaching and educational materials. Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor scanner performance and reports all malfunctions or service needs to the appropriate company or facility. Is responsible for patient data and films, including printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, and tracking of loaned or requested outside films. Recognizes contraindications associated with IV contrast administration, identifies possible reactions, and follows the required procedure in the event of a reaction. Orders necessary office, medical, printing, and archiving media. Qualifications Education / Training Requirements 2 Years applied Health Science required. 4 Years Nuclear Medicine Technician / Applied Health Science preferred. Certificates / Licenses / Registration Requirements CA Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech (CNMT) required. CPR/BLS Certificate preferred. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Tech Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Experience Requirements 1 Year clinical nuclear medicine required. 3 Years EMR experience preferred. Requires ability to reach above shoulder height and to sit or stand for extensive periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
