Traffic and Fleet Manager Full Time Salary Management Red Hill, PA, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1766 Position Summary The Traffic and Fleet Manager oversees the transportation and logistics of company products, ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in compliance with all federal and state regulations. This role manages third‑party carriers and Stauffer’s delivery fleet, coordinates transportation schedules, and optimizes freight operations to meet delivery deadlines and support customer satisfaction. The Traffic and Fleet Manager also monitors the movement of goods, negotiates with service and equipment providers, and implements improvements to strengthen logistics processes. Essential Functions Select and negotiate contracts with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers to secure favorable rates and service agreements. Direct dispatching and routing activities and track transportation vehicles. Plan and coordinate the movement of goods and materials, including scheduling and routing shipments. Monitor and track shipments to ensure on‑time delivery and provide updates to stakeholders. Address and resolve issues related to damaged or delayed shipments, as well as other logistics challenges. Monitor and control transportation costs by seeking opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Track and analyze transportation performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action. Maintain knowledge of regulations related to transportation including hazardous shipments, employee safety, and freight classifications. Manage the equipment in Stauffer’s internal fleet by negotiating lease contracts and ensuring all DOT requirements are up to date. Support data analysis efforts by compiling and analyzing transportation data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Monitor and ensure that Suppliers and Customers have appropriate freight terms set in ERP system to ensure seamless movement of goods. In collaboration with other managers, develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for transportation operations. Ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, environmental policies, and federal and state regulations. Partner with Human Resources to mitigate fleet and driver risks and ensure compliance. Review and analyze expenditures and other financial information. Supervise and manage Traffic Associates. Manage and supervise all staff personnel/human resource activities. Be responsible for staff competencies and performance. Required Education and Experience Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related field; or combined Associate’s degree with 3 years of experience in traffic, transportation, or logistics management within distribution, wholesale, or industrial supply environments. Extensive experience in freight management, logistics, or transportation; experience in contract negotiation, including strong negotiation skills for securing favorable shipping contracts. Demonstrated knowledge and experience overseeing DOT and FMSCA fleet management requirements ensuring federal, interstate, and state regulations are met. Prior experience managing fleet management leasing programs. Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s, supply chain management, logistics, or related field. 5 or more years of experience in transportation or logistics management within distribution, wholesale, or industrial supply environments. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel Occasional travel required as needed by leadership.
