Nurse Practitioner

Overview UW Health seeks a Nurse Practitioner Float Primary Care (Hybrid) to provide high‑quality, cost‑effective care to patients in Madison, Wisconsin. Work schedule is 100% FTE, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with no holidays or call. Hours may vary based on departmental needs. Responsibilities Be part of a virtual care team expanding access to primary care through telehealth visits. Care for the acute and chronic needs of patients from newborn to elderly. Perform physical examinations and manage health‑maintenance needs of a family‑medicine population. Perform routine clinical procedures independently, including wart removal, PAP smears, and skin‑lesion removals. Provide in‑person and virtual care to patients, ensuring high‑quality and cost‑effective services. Qualifications Education: For Nurse Practitioner – Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited nursing program. For Physician Assistant – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited PA program. Work experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience. Licenses and certifications: State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure. For Nurse Practitioner: active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice and active board certification as an NP in a clinical practice area (e.g., Family). For Physician Assistant: active PA license with prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice and active PA board certification. All candidates must have an active DEA license or be able to obtain one prior to or upon hire.
