Speech Language Pathologist (FT)

Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Situated on a peaceful, wooded 26-acre campus , Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe offers the Rise Program , a comprehensive neurological rehabilitation program for adults recovering from severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, spinal cord injury, and other neurological diagnoses.

This campus is also home to the Life Care Program , which provides long-term residential care for individuals who have sustained serious, life-altering injuries and require ongoing clinical and behavioral support. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a vital role in helping patients rebuild communication , cognitive , and swallowing skills after neurological or other complex injuries. As part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the SLP evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides hands-on therapy designed to improve independence, safety, and overall quality of life.

This position requires consistency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with patients who may have cognitive, neurological, behavioral, or complex medical conditions in a structured rehabilitation environment.

• Conduct speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations
• Develop and implement individualized therapy treatment plans
• Provide therapy for patients with neurologic, developmental, or medically complex conditions
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Recommend adaptive communication methods or assistive devices when appropriate
• Collaborate with occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, nursing, and medical staff
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning
• Follow Nexus policies, HIPAA standards, and safety procedures
• Use approved de-escalation techniques when needed to maintain safety
• Support a structured, therapeutic environment that promotes patient progress

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
• Minimum of 2 years' experience
• Experience working in diverse clinical settings

Licensure/Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP).
• Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Basic Life Support from American Heart Association/American Red Cross.
• De-escalation training within 30 days after hire.
• Must maintain current certification in good standing during employment with this facility.
