Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Part Time Unarmed Alarm Response in Durham, NC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will respond to alarms, support access control procedures, and provide exceptional customer service and clear communication. DayTimeWed07:00 AM - 03:00 PMThur07:00 AM - 03:00 PMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access control points, visitor activity, alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems; report irregularities and follow site procedures for access concerns.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site protocols.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff information while supporting a professional, customer-focused environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Hold CPR and First Aid certification, preferred.
- Have alarm panel experience, preferred.
- Hold a guard card or license, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
