Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1.5 years preferred, but 2 years is preferred License: Pending License accepted Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS required Must-Have: - Preferred 2 years of experience or 1.5 years from a similar setting - No holiday requests or more than 5 days off during the contract - Weekend availability required every other weekend - Open to accommodating block schedules - First-timers accepted Description: This position is specifically for winter coverage for a 10-week contract only. Candidates must start by December 18, 2026. Local radius restrictions are waived for this assignment. The facility features a 16-bed observation unit with non-admitted observation level of care. The average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6 for both day and night shifts. The unit operates under the guidelines of an emergency department. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy. Patient care will involve adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with various diagnoses. Preferred skills include acute psychosis management, drug overdose treatment, intubation, and care of ventilated patients. Experience in trauma and stroke certification is a plus. Successful candidates will manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and operate within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. Travelers will not be required to be on-call. This position allows for the makeup of missed weekend shifts. Further schedules will depend on department staffing needs. Candidates must communicate any vacation plans prior to the submission process.
