Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Traveling Physical Therapist Opportunity in Aventura, FL

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Join a hospital in Aventura, FL as a traveling Physical Therapist where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing life in a new location.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
• Active Florida Physical Therapy license required to start the assignment.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Experience working in an inpatient hospital setting. Experience with inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) or skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred.
• Ability to manage 1:1 patient caseloads and provide 1.5 hour treatment sessions as needed.
• Experience with common physical therapy equipment used on the unit preferred, such as treadmills, car simulators, RT300, Bioness systems, and BITS.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems. Meditech experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
• Comfort functioning independently in a fast-paced hospital unit.
• IRF clinical experience preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 07:00–19:00.
• Patient ratio: 1:1.
• Call/coverage: rotating weekends.
• Documentation system: Meditech.
• Typical treatment structure: longer 1.5 hour treatment sessions and attendance at team conferences.

Impacting Patient Care

Join a hospital therapy team and contribute to care for a large inpatient population including a new 26-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide individualized rehabilitation interventions that support functional recovery and safe discharge planning.
