Our mission is to offer a safe, reliable, and enjoyable ferry experience for passengers transiting the Long Island Sound barrier.The Bridgeport Port Jefferson Ferry is seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Worker (Weekends - 8 Hour Days) to join our team. Duties and responsibilities are outlined below:Maintenance Worker:Reports to:The Maintenance Worker in Bridgeport, CT is directly responsible and accountable to the Operations Manager.The Maintenance Worker in Port Jefferson, NY is directly responsible and accountable to the HR / Claims Manager.Supervises: NoneDescription of Duties:Service, clean and supply restroom(s).Gather and empty trash.Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming them.Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.Notify manager concerning the need for major repairs.Other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:HS diploma or equivalentMust be willing to work weekend, holidays, day/evening shifts as necessaryPhysical Requirements:Work involves considerable stooping, bending, climbing and working in tight spaces.Work involves handling of materiel or chemicals needed for maintenance and repairs; must be able to properly wear personal protective equipment.Training Requirements:New Hire Familiarization ChecklistSecurity Qualification ChecklistFLSA Status:Non-Exempt*This position description does not promise or imply that the functions listed are the only duties to be performed or that the position may not change or be eliminated.
