Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Job no: 497167 Overview Quinnipiac University's Department of Athletics & Recreation seeks an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. Reporting to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, this role assists with coordination, direction, and operation of a NCAA strength and conditioning program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams. Responsibilities Adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity and comply with all University, NCAA, and Conference regulations. Assist in designing, instructing, and supervising student‑athletes in proper techniques of strength training, aerobic/anaerobic conditioning, speed and power development, nutritional education, testing and evaluation protocols, and flexibility programs. Collaborate with the athletic training staff and team physicians on rehabilitation and treatment programs for injured student‑athletes. Assist in the training and supervision of student interns. Create and maintain proper records and databases. Oversee the operations and maintenance of all equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in a related field. Master's degree in a related field (preferred). National Strength and Conditioning Certification or equivalent. Certification by NSCA or CSCCA. Qualifications 1-2 years of experience working with diversified groups of athletes, both male and female. Minimum of 1 year working with collegiate student‑athletics (preferred). Basic computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Professional interaction within the department, the campus, and the national community. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Ability to work nights and weekends as required. Some travel possible. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.
