Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.

Utilizing therapeutic communication in daily interactions, you will maintain a safe and supportive environment. You will identify nursing challenges based on the unique needs of each patient.

As a Registered Nurse, you will develop personalized patient care plans while employing an interdisciplinary approach. You will engage in performance improvement initiatives and provide care that aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.

In the role of charge nurse, you will oversee daily operations to ensure quality patient care in a therapeutic setting. You will assign staff based on patient needs, acuity, and staff skills, serving as a role model and clinical resource. Timely responses to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs while executing physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Document and communicate patient conditions appropriately using computerized systems.
• Educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.
• Identify nursing issues related to individual patient needs and create tailored care plans using an interdisciplinary approach.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
• Preferred one year of clinical nursing experience.

Our facility is a 270+ bed hospital located near downtown Chattanooga, offering a wide range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These include cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. We also feature a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program, OB-GYN services, and a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), along with behavioral health treatment centers for both children and adults.
