In this role, you will be responsible for hardware and software design activities for building automation systems. You will apply engineering principles and practices in assignments, design cost‑effective control solutions to meet project requirements, and work directly on the project team to assist the Project Manager.What You Will DoResponsible for building controls design utilizing direct digital controls on a variety of building types, in regard to electronic comfort control and automation systems.Obtain and review contract documents, proposals, mechanical plans, specifications, estimates, equipment submittals, etc., for incorporation into the design of an automation system.Create installation drawings, submittal drawings, as‑built drawings, and transition to service.Develop advanced sequences of operations that meet the project requirements.Generate Operation and Maintenance Manuals and review contract documents, conduct job surveys. Review equipment submittals for design incorporation.Transition these documents to the field.Acquire and maintain knowledge of Trane Controls products, offerings, and applicable third‑party devices.Assist with cost estimates for projects and support BAS Technicians with wiring/programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test, and startup.Work with minimal supervision while advising and guiding other engineers.Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and providing feedback and solutions.What You Will BringDegree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Construction or Engineering Technology, or other related areas; or three (3) plus years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating roles; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.Candidates without a 4‑year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.Familiarity with operation and design of HVAC systems, building automation systems, and/or temperature controls.Familiarity with the concepts of new construction and renovation/retrofit, performance contracting, and service project management is preferred.Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product knowledge.Experience with a drafting/design program is required.Understanding of industry standard protocol and requirements for integration is preferred.Understanding of IT infrastructure and network architecture.Some travel to construction sites within the district may be required.Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.Annual Base Salary Range Or Hourly Base Pay Range$77,963.33 – $109,340.00Compensation TypeSalaryIncentive EligibleYesSales Commission EligibleNoDisclaimerWe strive to provide competitive compensation for this position, tailored to a variety of factors.
