Quality Compliance ManagerDescription: The Quality Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, reviewing, and recommending policies and practices, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role ensures that SnackCraft practices are being followed, and we stay compliant with regulatory, customer and internal requirements.Department: QualityReports To: FSQA DirectorEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in food science, Biology, Microbiology, or similar degree (Preferred)Minimum 5 years’ experience in development, maintenance, auditing, and continuous improvement of food safety systemsInternal Auditor Certified (GFSI Scope)PCQI CertifiedHACCP CertifiedKnowledge of BRCGS audit schemesStrong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance systems.Comprehensive practices, procedures and techniques involved in food manufacturingComprehensive proper food analysis lab testing techniques and proceduresUses proper lifting techniquesComprehensive in general mathematic calculationsComprehensive record-keeping proceduresStrong computer and Microsoft office abilitiesKnowledge of SharePoint systemsEffective communication in English languageWork Hours:45-50 hours per week (Monday - Friday):Office Standard Hours: Between 7:00am - 5:00pmOccasional time required on second and third shiftsConsidered on call 24/7 when the plant is operatingWork Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role utilizes standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines) and requires some work to be completed on the factory floor.Physical Demands:Hearing and speaking to exchange informationDexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipmentReaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontallyBending at the waist, kneeling, sitting, or crouchingAbility to walk and stand-up during shiftCompetencies:Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, HACCP, MDARD etc.).Quality Assurance Expertise: Develop and maintain quality assurance systems.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to train and educate staff on quality assurance procedures and regulatory requirements.Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail in documentation and compliance in all quality assurance activities.Core Responsibilities:Quality Assurance Systems:Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems and procedures.Ensure all quality control processes are in place and function effectively.Establish, review and update policies and procedures as needed.Maintain document control and registries for the facility.Assure 100% HACCP compliance with CCP/PC procedures and documentationMaintain excellence in food safety and quality of the product through education, familiarity with policy and products, and instruction to all plant personnelRegulatory Compliance:Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and local health department requirements.Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to compliance programs.Prepare for and manage external audits and inspections.Maintain certifications related to food safety and quality for customers (BRCGS, Organic, Non-GMO, GFCO, etc.)Maintain Document Control for all documentation related to food safety and quality.Perform or assign routine reviews of SOP, SSOP, Policy and other documents to ensure programs remains current and accurate.Ensure routine inspections, audits and reviews are performed within the expected due dates and follow-up actions are assigned and completed.Plans, leads and closes all internal and external audits, including overseeing development and execution of corrective actions.Internal Audits:Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards.Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.Document audit findings and follow up on corrective actions.Training and Development:Lead scheduling and tracking of training related to food safety and quality.Train plant staff on quality assurance procedures and regulatory requirements.Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff knowledge and compliance.Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the plant.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality assurance activities.Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.Ensure all records are compliant with regulatory requirements.Continuous Improvement:Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve quality processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements.Other:Follow and enforce all OSHA Safety Regulation and Safety Rules.Work towards and support a culture of continuous improvement and work to make business and department improvements wherever possibleResponsible for following all food safety policies, procedures and regulatory criteria including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
