Healthcare Analytics Business Analyst

Salary: $97,000 - 137,000 per year Requirements:

• 7–10 years of experience as a business or operations analyst in a health plan IT or operational environment.
• Undergraduate degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field; equivalent healthcare data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence experience may substitute.
• Experience with healthcare data in a data warehousing or analytics environment, preferably using Snowflake and Tableau.
• Background in Utilization Management, medical management systems, or prior authorization workflows.
• Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance programs, including Group, Individual, ASO/Fully Insured, and HMO/PPO coverage.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder and client meetings to gather, validate, and prioritize reporting and data requirements.
• Ability to document business and technical requirements and work with developers or data engineers to translate them into system or reporting functionality.
• Hands-on experience with data validation, quality assurance, testing, and troubleshooting in analytics or reporting pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of database structures, joins, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to turn complex data findings into clear, actionable business insights.
• Knowledge of clinical or laboratory data, such as HL7, EMR/EHR, or lab result feeds, is highly desirable.
• Exposure to AWS, Python, dbt, Git, or data visualization best practices is a plus.
• SAFe certification or experience in a scaled Agile environment is a plus.

• Partner with business, clinical, and IT teams to gather, define, and document requirements for analytics, reporting, and data integration initiatives.
• Convert stakeholder needs into functional specifications, source-to-target data mappings, and process documentation.
• Develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and reports on lab utilization, provider patterns, and operational performance.
• Validate data, investigate root causes, and reconcile results to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
• Present findings, metrics, and recommendations through visualizations, written summaries, and stakeholder presentations.
• Support improvements to Snowflake data models, pipelines, and reporting frameworks to enhance scalability and performance.
• Work with medical policy, clinical operations, and analytics teams to assess policy changes and identify improvement opportunities.
• Bridge technical developers and business users, aligning data definitions, logic, and report outputs.
• Facilitate requirements sessions, data review meetings, and cross-functional workgroups to support timely delivery.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy and security standards.
• Keep current with healthcare analytics, data visualization practices, and Snowflake and Tableau technologies.
• Recommend process, system, and reporting improvements to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of data-driven programs.
