SAGE Dining Services is seeking a reliable, full-time Prep Server to join our food service team at a private school in Brookline, MA. A Prep Server (or Prep Cook/Worker) job involves getting food ready for service by washing, chopping, mixing ingredients, portioning meals, and restocking stations, while also maintaining cleanliness, following recipes, managing temperatures, and supporting cooks, combining kitchen prep with basic serving duties like plating and keeping serving lines stocked and sanitary for efficient food flow. • Prepare food for service by washing, chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
• Follow recipes and prepare meals according to kitchen standards
• Restock prep areas and service stations to keep the kitchen running smoothly
• Assist cooks with daily food preparation and kitchen tasks
• Plate meals and help keep serving lines stocked during service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen workspace
• Follow proper food safety practices, including temperature checks and sanitation procedures
• Support efficient food flow by keeping stations ready and supplies available

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Available overtime for catering events with advance notice

Pay Type:

$21.00 Hourly

• Ensure that all food is appropriately displayed and visually appealing.
• Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and Team Members and provide service with a smile.
• Prepare assigned menu items in strict accordance with SAGE recipes.
• Clean, restock, and replenish serving lines and stations to ensure our guests enjoy amazing dining experiences.
• Clean all work areas and customer service areas on an ongoing basis.
• Use proper food handling, storage, and sanitation techniques always (HACCP).
• Assist in training new culinary Team Members.
• Endure exposure to extreme temperatures; intense heat and freezing cold.
• Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management.

Experience as a Prep Cook or Cook preferred, but not required. Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail. Ability to properly set up a buffet or serving station. Experience in customer service strongly preferred, but not required. Food safety certifications as required by jurisdiction.
