Local Flex Truck Driver

Drivers must live within a 50-mile radius of Davenport

Local flex driver needed for dedicated account. Flex drivers must be willing to run both solo and team routes. However, most of the routes will be solo. There will be very limited instances that may require a driver to team drive out of Davenport. Flex drivers are responsible for filling in for drivers who are out sick, on vacation, etc. Work consists of delivering aftermarket parts (loose package pieces i.e. hoods, bumpers, doors, etc.) to dealerships. If on a night route, the driver will be given the keys to unlock the gate/doors at dealerships. They are responsible for unloading the trailer, scanning in the new load being delivered, picking up returns and locking the dealership back up before heading out. Drivers must be comfortable maneuvering a tractor-trailer in car lots – the ideal drivers will be comfortable with city driving. This route will have steady work and consistent freight.

If we are running full staffed, we schedule drivers to ride along on heavier routes to assist with deliveries.

Drivers will have to complete a minimum of one week of training on the account before they can run without a trainer. All drivers will be paid an hourly rate of $18.54. The total hours they will be running each day depends on call outs, as this is a flex position.

REQUIREMENTS:

● 12 months recent tractor-trailer driving experience

● Doubles preferred but not required on this specific account

● Drivers must be comfortable with maneuvering in downtown Chicago

● The physical requirement is handling, positioning and securing delivery roller cages and lifting loose boxed parts on the floor and overhead in trailer attic on/off trailer in/out of dealership. Weight lift/handling range 40 -75 lbs.

● No pets or passengers

● Must have a good MVR, good background, be able to pass all DOT pre-employment screenings and have a stable job history

Running area : We run in: IA, IL, IN, KS, MN, MO, ND, SD, NE, WI (could cover any of the domiciles as needed. We will put drivers up in a hotel if needed. Must be okay with delivering to Chicago.

1500 Solo / 3000 Team Miles - Averages 8 stops

Team drivers are home weekly (drivers rarely have to team, but it will be required when needed)

Solo drivers are home daily

Start Times: can vary anywhere between 5 PM to 1 AM. Monday - Saturday

$1350 - $1550 per week

0.54 CPM to start. $18.54/hr.

$.05 mileage increase every 6 months until top pay

Stop Pay – All stop excluding Final: $13.00 Single, $15.00 Team Spilt

Delay Pay - $18.54 per hour solo and $9.27 per hour team after 15 min free time (does not pay at stop unless it is a dealer caused delay

Newer Peterbilts – Automatic Transmission – With Pre-Pass and EZ Pass (28’/48’ Dry Van with lift gates) routes require 28’ van Doubles endorsement. 65 pedal and cruise

Touch freight: Automotive Part (cages, totes, loose pieces)

New Hire Transition Bonus: $500– paid in full on second paycheck

Referral Bonus: $3,000 – Paid out at $1,000 on second paycheck; $1,000 at 60 days, and $1,000 at 120 days
