Senior Manager - New Glenn SEIT

About the Role At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low‑cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration, heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low‑Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human‑capable. The position will directly impact the history of space exploration and requires detailed attention toward safe and repeatable space flight. As part of the New Glenn SEIT System Engineering Center (SEC), you will manage a small team that provides guidance and process control for the New Glenn program. The scope includes developing processes and products for the design of the New Glenn orbital launch vehicle system and facilities. You must have a passion for mission assurance, a commitment to the fundamentals of system safety, system engineering, tools development, and a strong capacity to work collaboratively on complex problems across the entire New Glenn Program. Responsibilities Lead and manage a small system engineering team within the SEIT‑SEC, provide guidance and process oversight, develop and implement engineering and safety tools, streamline processes for a rapid development environment, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross‑discipline teams and external regulatory bodies such as the FAA and Space Force. Required Qualifications Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering or related field 10+ years engineering experience in the aerospace or engineering industry 3+ management experience in a large development program at the system/program level Experience with large development programs culture and risk posture Enjoys a highly dynamic and fast paced environment Experienced with process development for system engineering, system safety, and related tools processes such as IBM JAZZ, ISOGraph, and Windchill tools. Experienced with rapidly streamlining implementation processes for a development environment Experience in at least one of the areas of analysis, design, or integrated testing Possess skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive in moving program forward through team collaborations to achieve timely decisions, ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a collaborative. Experience with mentoring and coaching engineers on system engineering practices and system safety practices Experienced in working cross discipline teams and including analysis, design, configuration, and certification teams. Experienced with working with external regulatory government entities like the FAA and Space Force Range Experience with development and reporting of metrics. Participate in actively maintaining a healthy system engineering and working culture Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs Have fundamental skills of management of system engineering and engineering data. Applicant must be a United States citizen Desired Qualifications Process ownership and maintenance experience Experience with configuration management in aerospace or other complex engineering environments Knowledge of requirements management and traceability tools and methodologies Experience with database management and data governance Certification in configuration management (e.g., CMII) Experience with DevOps practices and tools Background in implementing and maintaining enterprise software solutions Experience with IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management tools, particularly JAZZ platform applications Experience with EIA-649C and implementing the principles of configuration management Base Pay Range WA applicants: $183,807.00 - $257,328.75 Benefits Medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long‑term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.
