We are Looking for an experienced, dependable Feeder / Second Pressman to join our pressroom team. This position will work alongside the lead pressman operating an RMGT 920 offset press equipped with a roll sheeter on the back end .

We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing quality work, pays attention to detail, keeps the pressroom organized, and wants to be part of a team that gets the job done right and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead pressman with the operation of the RMGT 920 offset press .
• Operate and monitor the feeder section of the press.
• Assist with press make-readies, wash-ups, plate changes, and press setup.
• Load and prepare paper and other press materials.
• Monitor sheet feeding, registration, ink coverage, color, and overall print quality.
• Assist with operating and monitoring the roll sheeter at the back end of the press.
• Help ensure the sheeter is properly set up and producing clean, accurate sheets.
• Pull and inspect press sheets throughout the run for quality and consistency.
• Make adjustments as directed by the lead pressman.
• Help maintain proper ink, coating, paper, and other pressroom supplies.
• Keep the press, feeder, sheeter, and surrounding work area clean and organized.
• Follow job tickets, press schedules, and production instructions accurately.
• Assist with counting, stacking, marking, and preparing finished sheets for the finishing department.
• Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on the press and related equipment.
• Communicate any mechanical, material, or quality issues to the lead pressman or management immediately.
• Follow all company safety and production procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a commercial printing pressroom preferred.
• Experience as a feeder, second pressman, or press operator assistant is a plus.
• Offset printing experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with a sheetfed offset press is preferred.
• Experience with a roll sheeter is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand job tickets and production instructions.
• Good understanding of paper, sheet sizes, grain direction, registration, and print quality.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to lift and handle paper and other production materials.
• Must be willing to learn and take direction from the lead pressman and management.
