Medical Director- Primary Care or Collaborating Physician (Full or Part Time) (Richmond)

Position Summary

We are seeking a collaborative, mission-driven Physicians to partner with the Chief Medical Officer in delivering exceptional care to medically complex and geriatric patients across multiple settings.

This physician leader will balance direct patient care with clinical leadership, mentoring advanced practice providers, driving quality outcomes, and supporting the continued growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to a panel of medically complex and geriatric patients across post-acute and senior living settings.
• Serve as the collaborating physician for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, providing mentorship, clinical oversight, and regulatory support.
• Foster strong relationships with facility leadership, patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Champion quality initiatives focused on reducing avoidable hospitalizations, improving clinical outcomes, and optimizing cost of care.
• Conduct clinical documentation and medical record reviews in accordance with state regulations.
• Support medical directorship responsibilities as needed.
• Partner with leadership to identify growth opportunities and strengthen relationships with skilled nursing and senior living communities.
• Participate in physician call coverage and attend leadership meetings and clinical training programs.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics (Geriatrics preferred).
• Active, unrestricted medical license and DEA registration.
• Minimum of 7 years of clinical practice experience with at least 2 years in a physician leadership or administrative role preferred.
• Passion for caring for older adults in post-acute, long-term care, or home-based settings.
