Network Deployment Technician, DCC Communities

Description AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. This role requires working independently in a dynamic environment to support the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks and to help develop automation solutions that scale the network. Responsibilities The position includes: Scaling support for several data center locations and providing day‑to‑day assistance with capacity management. Collaborating with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution under the direction of Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers. Managing work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects. Collaborating with stakeholders to remove project obstacles. Troubleshooting networking, routing, and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords. Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment. Participating in the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware. Travel within and outside of the regional work area is required; the employee must maintain a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; lift >41 pounds for group lifts. Work in environments that operate 24/7, including primary responder rotations and after‑hours support. Work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments. Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day. Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer networking experience. 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience working with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair. Physical ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds. Preferred Qualifications Ability to work in cramped spaces or at elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines. Effective customer service skills during problem resolution and ability to work efficiently under pressure. Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies. Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment). Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CCENT, Network+) or relevant experience in Computer Science or Networking Engineering. Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as telnet, test‑netconnection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, packet capture tools, or similar. Knowledge of networking protocols such as DNS, and TCP/IP.
