Position Summary Do you have paralegal experience in commercial financing and/or banking? Do you have experience with real estate purchases and sales? Our Healthcare group is searching for an experienced paralegal who can manage and run numerous real estate deals concurrently. This is an amazing role for a paralegal who can work independently at a senior level for a busy attorney team. The Real Estate/Commercial Finance Paralegal is responsible for providing support and assistance to attorneys in coordinating, managing, and supervising all aspects of litigation, including but not limited to handling caseloads, drafting and reviewing legal documents and correspondence, compiling, analyzing, and summarizing information, and coordinating efforts between attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, other parties, and vendors. Essential Functions Draft basic corporate documents and ancillary agreements, including final drafts of ancillary finance agreements. Prepare, revise, redline, and proofread corporate documents such as contracts, agreements, transactional matters, compliance, closing documents, UCCs, financing and lending, audit letters, etc. Assist with assembly of pre-closing documents and sets of executed documents for various signatures, corporate formation and dissolution documents, and UCC financing statements and amendments. Manage, review, and provide input on titles, surveys, zoning reports, and finances, as well as objection letters and responses. Organize and maintain complex transaction files, folders, and due‑diligence checklists. Assist with real‑estate closings on acquisitions, divestitures, and financing matters involving purchases and sales of real estate, including acquisition financing. Manage and maintain closing bibles and agendas to ensure accuracy and up‑to‑date information. Assist with running agendas, proformas, and categorizing all due‑diligence documents. Organize and maintain case files using automated procedures. Review documents for privilege and draft privilege logs for attorney review. Perform legal and factual research. Interact with outside entities—courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors, and other law firms—to gather information or coordinate activities as needed in support of firm activities, specifically real‑estate closings. Act as liaison between case‑team attorneys and support staff to ensure paralegal services meet the team's expectations. Meet billable goals as established by practice management. Additional Responsibilities Overtime may be required as needed. Perform additional office support duties as assigned or requested. Confidentiality Due to the nature of your employment, you will come into possession of confidential documents and information. Such documents and information must remain confidential at all times. Qualifications Paralegals should hold a valid paralegal certification and have at least 5 years of experience in real estate, commercial finance, and/or banking. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required. You must have solid time‑management and organizational skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, be self‑motivated and proactive, and have an excellent customer‑service attitude. Availability for overtime work and travel is expected. Salary range: $110,000 to $155,000 per year. The offered salary is based on Benesch's good faith belief at the time of posting and is not a guarantee of final offers. Base pay is market‑based and may vary depending on experience.
