On Any Given Day You’ll Assist in the preparation or modification of plans, specifications, reports, construction schedules, permits, and project designs Perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments under the supervision of senior engineers Prepare design calculations and quantity estimates Assist in developing probable construction cost estimates for projects Serve as onsite project representative Review construction sites to monitor progress and perform other duties as required by contract documents Apply standard practices and techniques, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies, and follow operations through related steps or processes Read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and government regulations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, or will take the exam within six months of hire Applied for or received EIT license, or will obtain one within six months of hire Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Desired Skills And Experiences Previous internship experience in civil engineering Excellent written and verbal communication skills Physical Demands Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods Ability to sit, walk, reach, crouch, bend, and stand on uneven surfaces for extended periods Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
