Twist is an upscale restaurant and cocktail destination located in the heart of Canonsburg, Pennsylvania . We are creating an elevated dining experience built around exceptional food, craft cocktails, outstanding hospitality, and an atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on General Manager to lead our restaurant operations and help build a strong culture of hospitality, accountability, and excellence.

This is an opportunity for an experienced restaurant leader who understands that a successful restaurant is built by taking care of the guests, the team, and the business.

Position Overview

The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of Twist and will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest experience while maintaining strong operational and financial performance.

The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on leader who is comfortable being on the floor, interacting with guests, coaching employees, solving problems, and ensuring that Twist's standards are consistently met.

This position requires previous restaurant management experience and hands-on experience with Toast POS (Point of Sale).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all daily front-of-house restaurant operations.
• Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and manage restaurant staff.
• Build a positive, professional, team-oriented culture.
• Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable to Twist's standards.
• Maintain a strong management presence on the floor during service.
• Ensure every guest receives exceptional service from arrival through departure.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and turn challenges into positive experiences.
• Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen leadership to maintain smooth communication between front and back of house.
• Manage employee scheduling while balancing proper staffing levels with labor costs.
• Monitor sales, labor, food and beverage costs, and other key restaurant performance indicators.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, cost controls, and reducing unnecessary waste.
• Ensure proper cash handling, opening/closing procedures, deposits, and daily reporting.
• Maintain accurate employee timekeeping, tip, and payroll-related information.
• Oversee and maintain the Toast POS system , including employee access, menu updates, reporting, timekeeping, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operational use.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, sanitation, liquor, and employment regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness, organization, appearance, and overall readiness of the restaurant.
• Help develop systems, policies, and procedures that allow the restaurant to operate consistently and efficiently.
• Lead by example and step in wherever needed to support the team and the guest experience.

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous restaurant General Manager or senior restaurant management experience.
• Previous hands-on Toast POS experience.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labor management, scheduling, inventory, cost controls, and guest service.
• Experience hiring, training, coaching, and managing restaurant employees.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Ability to work a flexible restaurant schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred:

• Experience managing an upscale, polished-casual, or high-volume restaurant.
• Experience with craft cocktail/bar operations.
• Experience helping open or launch a new restaurant.
• Knowledge of restaurant financials, including P&L statements, labor percentages, food/beverage costs, and profitability.
• Experience developing service standards and building a strong restaurant culture.

What We're Looking For

Our General Manager should notice the details, anticipate problems before they become problems, know what's happening throughout the restaurant, and understand that hospitality starts with leadership.

You should be equally comfortable reviewing labor numbers, training a new employee, speaking with a guest, working with the Chef, troubleshooting Toast, and jumping onto the floor during a busy service.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to help build Twist , not simply manage a shift.
