Balance Health is looking for a Medical Assistant in the Denver Metro Area to help provide excellent patient care.Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreets patients in a professional and friendly manner in person on site and/or via phoneEscorts patients to exam rooms ensuring preparation and set up is ready for provider appointmentsTakes vital signs and may perform ancillary tests appropriate to skill level per provider guidanceProperly prepares exam rooms for providers, ensuring they are properly stocked with all necessary supplies for use during patient examinations, treatment, and proceduresApply dressings, bandages, and splints as directed by providersEnsures a sanitized and safe working environment is maintained per required protocolsMaintains complete and accurate patient records entering all information timely per established protocolsProperly maintains HIPAA compliance including strict confidentiality at all timesDemonstrates excellent communication skills by properly coordinating and communicating services between patients, providers, coworkers, and outside entities as necessary and timely always with professionalismPerforms other medical assistant/office duties as needed or requestedRequirements1-2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant working in a professional outpatient practice medical office (podiatry practice highly preferred)High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent American Heart Association CPR Certification preferredCertification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of training and hands on relevant experience highly desiredRequires critical thinking skills, decisive/good judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision once fully trainedAbility to respond appropriately to emergency situationsAdaptable with regard to advancement of and changing technology per business needsDemonstrates attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with personnel at all levels within the companyAble to coordinate patient services, assist patients with office, medications and procedure authorizations and clearly explain processes to patientsAbility to use EMR and perform chart abstraction into EMREfficient typing skills required to input various data into Information SystemsStrong computer skills and use of Microsoft office programsAbility to efficiently prioritize and complete workExcellent interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication / writing skills along with a full understanding and comprehension of the English languageExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsMust be able to multi-task and be flexible in changing work assignments sometimes on short notice, which may include decreased or increased work hours or working at a different practice location as needed to ensure business needs are properly metAbility to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environmentMust be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.Or any combination of academic education and professional training and development along with applied work experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.Education and ExperienceMinimum High School Diploma or EquivalentExperience in fast paced scheduling or call center1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferredExperience working with performance metricsExperience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Benefits of Working with Balance HealthMedical, Dental, and Vision PlansHSA with Employer ContributionFSAGenerous PTO Program401k with a 3% MatchEmployee Assistance ProgramLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability
