Job Description

The General Production Worker sequences products according to customer specifications, operates basic production and assembly equipment, and performs quality checks to ensure all products meet required standards. This role involves using RF scanning equipment, handling and labeling products, and supporting various production and warehouse activities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Sequence products accurately according to customer specifications and production requirements.

• Use RF scanning equipment to verify sequencing information and maintain accurate records.

• Operate hand tools, assembly equipment, and basic office equipment safely and efficiently.

• Sort products to support quality checking and defect containment processes.

• Perform quality checks in line with company and customer specifications to ensure products are free from defects.

• Ensure all products are properly labeled and meet quality standards before moving to the next stage.

• Support general production, assembly, packaging, and warehouse tasks as needed.

• Handle materials within docking stations, warehouse aisles, and assembly cells to keep production flowing smoothly.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of relatable experience in production, general labor, warehouse, assembly, or similar environments.

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.

• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift in a fast-paced environment.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Experience with general production and assembly tasks.

• Ability to operate hand tools and basic assembly equipment.

• Comfort working in a warehouse environment, including docking stations and aisles.

• Attention to detail when sequencing products and performing quality checks.

• Ability to use RF scanning equipment to verify product information.

• Reliability and strong work ethic in a hectic, fast-paced setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general labor, material handling, or machine operation.

• Experience working in cleanroom or controlled environments.

• Familiarity with forklift operation (if certified, this is a plus).

• Experience with packaging, packing, and machine operating tasks.

• Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of colleagues, including office staff, assemblers, and janitorial staff.

• Comfort working across multiple areas such as docking stations, warehouse aisles, and assembly cells.

Work Environment

The work environment is hectic and fast paced, with conditions that can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You will work within docking stations, move up and down warehouse aisles, and spend time in assembly cells while interacting with a variety of team members from office staff to assemblers and janitorial staff. Typical attire includes jeans and steel-toe footwear, suitable for an active, hands-on production and warehouse setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterloo, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $20.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
