Service Manager

Your role Develop the service business in the assigned region/area in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer. Provide daily oversight for a team of experienced Service Technicians and guidance on customer care and technical issues. Control costs and maximize profit levels. Strengthen customer relations by making routine visits to resolve issues, advising on service standards, selling service plans/products, including training, as required. Oversee daily operations of a team of experienced Service Technicians, providing leadership, development, support, and motivation. Plan and control the daily workload of Service Technicians and provide technical support to the Service Technicians and customers. Interview, hire, orient, and train new employees. Improve the efficiency of daily administrative routines. Visit customers to provide advice on service standards and sell service plans, products, and training. Proactively identify, pursue, and resolve service issues. Support the daily operations of Service Technicians by facilitating communications with technical support, sales/marketing, and the customer. Coordinate scheduling with Service Coordinators and provide reports concerning work‑in‑process. Maintain a safe working environment while enforcing safety procedures and compliance with federal laws and regulations. Arrange safety training for Service Technicians as mandated. Keep documentation and certification records relevant to this training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience – 5 to 7 years of directly relevant experience, preferably within the Atlas Copco Group. Education – High school diploma required; two‑ or four‑year technical college degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills – Self‑directed with excellent organizational, supervisory, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem‑solving skills. Knowledge of safety practices and OSHA regulatory compliance required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and IBM Lotus Notes applications. Some travel required. Valid driver's license.
