Accountant

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Accountant for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Company located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity and will work onsite.


Compensation: $34.85 - $36.30 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
In this role, the Accountant will join a team overseeing system accounting for insurance products. Responsibilities include performing a variety of financial accounting functions, such as control activities, reconciliation, and participation in the monthly close process. The successful candidate will also assist in a large-scale corporate project involving the creation and testing of new accounts, reports, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Independently perform financial accounting functions and related control activities for assigned products and processes
• Ensure the accuracy of accounting generated by numerous systems as well as any manual accounting
• Research and resolve reconciliation issues, imbalances, and open suspense items
• Participate in monthly close processes, including the processing of journal entries, reconciliations, and other analyses
• Assist in a large scale corporate project, requiring the creation of new accounts, reports, and processes
• Test system changes and their impact on accounting

Primary Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Formal accounting education with an understanding of accounting principles
• Knowledge of how to perform journal entries (credits/debits)
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks while working in a dynamic environment
• Technology savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
