Senior Director Global Oral Solid Dosage Forms (Global OSD), Technical Operations, Science & Innovation

Senior Director role leading global technical operations for AstraZeneca's oral solid dosage portfolio. Manages a diverse technical organization providing on-market support, drives manufacturing innovation and performance improvements, and shapes regional commercial operations strategy across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a technical organization delivering product and process performance for commercial oral solid dosage portfolio
- Manage direct reports, build capability and succession while fostering continuous improvement and innovation culture
- Implement science and innovation strategies for oral solid dosage manufacturing in partnership with product development teams
- Proactively manage product and process robustness using data, AI and advanced analytics to drive performance improvements
- Maintain technical support model for internal manufacturing sites and external partners while managing risk and budgets
Requirements
- Extensive pharmaceutical experience in oral solid dosage form drug products and manufacturing technology
- Proven leadership of large, multi-site or global technical organizations in commercial manufacturing
- Expert knowledge of cGMP, SHE principles, Lean methodology, and their practical application
- Track record deploying innovative manufacturing technologies, preferably continuous direct compression platforms
- Strong background in material science or pharmaceutics applied to oral dosage development or commercialization
- Demonstrated success building high-performing, inclusive technical teams and developing senior leaders
- Experience overseeing substantial budgets, capital planning, and investment decisions in complex operations
