Physical TherapistThe Physical Therapist evaluates and treats individuals with temporary or long term physical disabilities to relieve pain, restore function, and promote healing by applying the therapeutic properties of exercise, and using certain modalities that include, but are not limited to heat, cryotherapy, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. The physical therapist treats the "whole person" by psychologically preparing the patient for treatment and working to rebuild confidence.Specific Elements And Essential FunctionsThe physical therapist, performs evaluations and designs a plan of care based on the initial assessment.Performs appropriate tests to determine problem areas related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.Documents normal/abnormal findings and related history.Reports suspected abuse/neglect in the pediatric, adolescent and geriatric population.Collaborates with physicians to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries.Plans and implements safe and comprehensive treatment programs to address functionalEducates patient, family, and physician in current functional status and provides documents accordingly.Speaks positively about the system, physicians, community and staff.Utilizes safe patient handling equipment when necessary.Instructs patients and their families in the care and use of wheelchairs, assistive devices, prosthetics, braces, and orthotics when appropriate.Maintains the patient record in a timely fashion.Hours: Per Diem, Various ShiftsSalary: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour based on experienceCompany OverviewEllenville Regional Hospital is a non-profit, community focused hospital based in New York's Hudson Valley.
