St. Mary's Healthcare has also been named a 2026 Times Union Top Workplace—the first acute care hospital in the Capital Region to earn the distinction since the Times Union launched the recognition program 15 years ago.Employment Type: Full-TimeShift: DaysHours per Week: 32 hoursHiring Range: $18.39-$24.59 hourlyBelow are the shift differentials based on eligible shifts worked:Weekday evening shift - additional 10%Weekday night shift - additional 15%Weekend day shift - additional 10%Weekend evening & night shifts - additional 21%The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.Responsibilities:Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the thrift store to ensure a welcoming, organized and mission-focused environment.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with volunteers, donors, customers, community organizations and hospital staff.Recruit, train, support and recognize volunteers in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Coordinate the intake, sorting, pricing, display and sale of donated merchandise.Ensure merchandise is presented in an attractive, clean and organized manner.Oversee cash handling procedures, daily sales reconciliation and bank deposits.Maintain accurate sales and donation records and assist with preparation of reports as requested.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate merchandise rotation to maximize sales and community benefit.In collaboration with the Director, Mission Advancement and Community Outreach, coordinate donation drives and community engagement opportunities that support the thrift store's mission.Ensure the thrift store opens and operates according to established schedules.Promote a culture of hospitality, compassion and respect for all who enter the store.Maintain compliance with organizational policies, safety practices and applicable regulations.Additional Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned.Education, Training & Experience:High school diploma or GED required.Experience working with volunteers or nonprofit organizations.Knowledge of thrift store operations, resale environments or donation-based programs.One or more of the following preferred:Experience working in customer service, volunteer coordination, community outreach or a retail environment.Experience handling cash transactions and maintaining records.Experience supporting community outreach or fundraising initiatives.Required Skills and Attributes:Ability to organize and establish day-to-day priorities while using critical thinking skills in all aspects of the job.Must be able to multitask while remaining professional, focused, composed and positive.Commitment to St. Mary's Healthcare's mission, values and service to the community.Excellent customer service skillsDisplays integrity, friendliness, and compassion.Must be able to establish an appropriate and effective rapport with others.Demonstrates flexibilityTakes initiativeAble to work in a fast-paced environmentEmbraces new opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Proficient with various Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).Strong organizational skills.Effective interpersonal skills.Ability to take and follow direction in a positive and appropriate manner.Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
