About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Float / Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown (Nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Float across multiple units including Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, and post-procedural areas based on census and staffing needs — there is no designated home unit
• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 within a 130-bed facility
• Administer and monitor IV drips including heparin, insulin, Lasix, amiodarone, diltiazem, and digoxin
• Perform telemetry monitoring duties including reading and interpreting rhythm strips and dysrhythmias (EKG/ECG)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care across varied clinical settings
• Complete Basic Dysrhythmia Assessment with a passing score of 80% during onboarding

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of experience in Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, Telemetry, or Med Surg/Telemetry
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
• Active AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active AHA or ARC Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Proficiency and comfort with telemetry duties including EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia reads
• Experience with EPIC EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• De-Escalation Certificate (SAMA, MAB, MOAB, or CPI) — can be obtained during onboarding
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification — can be obtained during onboarding
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
• Skills checklist specific to Progressive Care, Stepdown, Med Surg, or Telemetry discipline
