Commercial facility sector, apartment/HOA, or retail store security experience does not qualify. The following experience will be considered equivalent duty:/pp- US Military: 2 years or more in any branch, with an honorable discharge./pp- Police Officer: 2 or more years with acceptable performance./pp- Graduate of a Police or Corrections Academy (must be POST certified), and one (1) year experience protecting critical infrastructure in sectors other than commercial facilities./pp- Completion of Criminal Justice Degree, Associate or higher, and one (1) year experience protecting critical infrastructure in sectors other than commercial facilities./pp- Completion of Homeland Security Degree, and one (1) year experience protecting critical infrastructure in sectors other than commercial facilities/ppQualifying critical infrastructure experience must be clearly identified and placed in the security guards personnel folder./ppSecurity Guards shall possess an acceptable level of agility, stamina, and overall good physical health allowing them to:/pp- Stand for up to eight (8) hours at a single post./pp- Walk long distances over uneven terrain, dirt or rocky paths, day and night, and in all weather conditions./pp- Lift twenty-five (25) lbs./ppSecurity Guards shall be proficient in English, both written and oral, and have basic log and report writing skills/ppResponsibilities:/pulliConduct yourself professionally/liliConduct interior and exterior patrols within an office, industrial complex or shopping centers with medium / high volume of people./liliPerform patrols around the perimeter./liliCheck all personnel entering facilities./liliLog in all visitors, vehicles and vendors./liliIssue visitor badges as required./liliMaintain security, visitor logs and other records./liliAdminister access control over vehicles entering garages or other parking structures/liliOperate a hand-held radio, cell phone or other communication devices as needed/liliAccess control of all entries by employees, vendors, contractors, visitors, etc./liliMaintain and carry the assigned company cell phone as required./liliAssist employees in an orderly evacuation of the building and to Muster Points in an event of a fire or other emergency./liliObserve and report suspicious activity or situations and use communication skills and deductive reasoning to prioritize your responsibilities./li/ulpQualifications:/pulliSpeak, read, and write English/liliShall possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency/liliMust be of high integrity and possess exemplary security skills and judgment./liliMust possess above average computer skills and must hold all necessary and required licenses, permits and certifications required by the of assignment to perform security officer duties./liliValid California Guard Card/liliPass a background Check/liliPass a 7-panel drug test/liliDrivers License/liliCPR Certification, we can help get you certified/li/ulpWork Environment and Schedule:/pulliJob operates in client sites which could be indoors or outdoors./liliPosition requires prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities./liliOpen availability Nights, Weekends, Holidays and overtime as directed(overtime occurs)./liliWork various shifts and Holidays as assigned./li/ulpVeterans/ppInter-Con is passionate about hiring veterans.
