Position Overview Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Syracuse, NY — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Compensation & Schedule Driver Positions Pay Weekly Hours Per Week: 40 + additional hours per week Solo Miles Pay: $0.40 per Mile Solo Stops Pay: $12.00 per Stop Paid Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, no weekends Start Time: 6:00 AM – 7:00 AM Route & Vehicle Details Duty Type: Deliver SOLO to 120 mile radius of Syracuse Route: Local Home Daily Truck Type: Box Truck – 16’, 22’ & 26’ Equipment: Pallet Jack, Lift Gate & Hand Truck Training on equipment provided by Ryder Freight: Touch – Auto Parts Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO first year, starting Day 1 (use it or get paid for it) Uniforms, cell phone & boot allowance provided Drivers are the Captain — you make safety decisions, and your job is protected 401(k) rollover available now + company match at 1 year 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to specific eligibility criteria, including work tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech & more Qualifications Minimum 21 years of age Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience Must have verifiable driving experience (if position applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck) 6 months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Must have a valid driver’s license Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures Pass a Ryder Drug Test Responsibilities This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a vehicle and complying with safety regulations, continuous training, and customer service. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines. Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards. Maintaining accurate records, loading/unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer. Other tasks as assigned.
