Primary Care Physician - Inova Pride Clinic

Inova's Community Health Division is seeking a compassionate, culturally affirming Primary Care Physician to join the Inova Pride Clinic — the first dedicated LGBTQ+ primary care clinic in Northern Virginia. This full-time role is embedded within the Primary Care Service Line and offers a unique opportunity to serve a historically underserved community through both in-person and telemedicine care. Additionally, opportunities for Sign-On, Retention, and Relocation bonusesJob Responsibilities Provide comprehensive primary care to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning patients across the lifespan, with particular emphasis on:Gender-affirming hormone therapy and transgender care. Sexual health, HIV prevention and management (including PrEP/PEP) Gynecologic care, including preventive and routine services Adolescent and young adult medicine Metabolic health and weight management Mental health co-management, including psychotropic medication management and support for patients with mood, anxiety, and trauma-related conditionsEating disorder awareness and coordinated careInterdisciplinary collaboration with behavioral health, social work, and specialty teamsRequired QualificationsEducation & TrainingMD or DO degreeResidency training in Family Medicine, Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds), or Obstetrics and GynecologyLicensure & CertificationActive Virginia medical license, or eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Virginia medical licenseBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, or Obstetrics and Gynecology with commitment to complete board certification if not yet obtainedClinical ExperienceAbility and willingness to provide comprehensive longitudinal primary careDemonstrated experience providing affirming, culturally responsive care to LGBTQ+ individuals and other diverse patient populations Comfort and competence with the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ primary care needs, including gender-affirming careFor OB/GYN-trained candidates, demonstrated interest, experience, and comfort managing primary care conditions in addition to providing gynecologic careCore CompetenciesStrong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build trust with a diverse patient populationExperience working in ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse care environmentsFlexibility, adaptability, and capacity to thrive in a multidisciplinary team settingPassion for advancing health equity and inclusive carePreferred/Value-Added Qualifications:We recognize that physicians bring diverse and complementary skill sets.
