Compensation: $15/hr

The Dog Stop® - Kansas City is opening in October. We are looking for enthusiastic Dog Handlers to join our team. Knowledge of the dog care industry is a plus but not required provided the candidate is capable of quickly learning the ins and outs of dog behavior and our range of services. We do require a positive attitude, outgoing personality, dedication to providing an unparalleled experience for our clientele, and, of course, a love of dogs. Must be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments, and energy levels in a fast-paced group play environment.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Supervising and directing safe and positive dog play in group play-yards
• Maintaining a clean and healthy environment for dogs & pet parents - including boarding rooms, kennels, bedding, bowls, and dog care areas
• Care for dogs and complete dog care records, feeding logs, medication logs, incident reports, and customer communications accurately and on time.
• Clear communication with shift managers
• Ensuring dogs and their owners feel comfortable and are receiving the level of service they’ve come to expect from The Dog Stop
• Contributing to a positive team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in pet care, veterinary, boarding, daycare, hospitality, retail, fitness, childcare, or other customer-service-driven industries

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Comfortable working around dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperament
• Ability to work in a physically active environment
