You will collaborate closely with patients, families, and Kentucky Early Intervention System (KEIS) professionals to develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each child's unique needs. You will provide therapy in the patient’s natural environment to include their home, caregiver’s home, community and/or daycare. This role requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach, ensuring that therapy sessions are engaging, effective, and supportive. Ultimately, your expertise will empower these little ones to achieve greater independence and confidence in their communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Kentucky.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Strong knowledge of speech language disorders and their treatment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with pediatric patients across diverse clinical settings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language disorders in patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
- Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based techniques to improve communication.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy approaches as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, other professionals to support holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Stay current with advances in speech therapy practices and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Skills:
The required skills enable you to accurately assess and diagnose speech and language disorders, ensuring that treatment plans are evidence-based and tailored to individual needs. Strong communication skills are essential for building rapport with patients and collaborating effectively with families and the KEIS team. Your clinical expertise allows you to apply a variety of therapeutic techniques to address diverse speech challenges. Additionally, proficiency in teletherapy expands your reach, allowing you to provide high-quality care in remote or underserved areas.
