Speech Therapist in New Britain, CT

Step into a dynamic educational setting supporting students' communication needs for the remainder of the school year! We are seeking two dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide vital services to K-5 and 6-12 grade learners. This rewarding contract opportunity spans two welcoming campuses, located near New Britain, CT, and runs from ASAP through mid-June (end of school year).


Your expertise will be instrumental in nurturing students' speech and language skills in supportive, resource-rich environments-one serving elementary-aged students in Manchester, and the other focusing on middle and high school students in Bloomfield. Caseloads are manageable, with approximately 5-7 students per location and full-time schedules (30-40 hours/week).


Key Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Valid SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Connecticut
• Prior school-based experience or strong interest in the educational setting
• Understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and speech-language therapy goals
• Competence with AAC devices, articulation, language, and social communication interventions
• Ability to collaborate with supervising SLPs, teachers, and school teams
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing direct speech-language services to students under SLP supervision
• Assisting in implementing therapy plans outlined in students' IEPs
• Collecting and maintaining data to monitor student progress
• Supporting classroom teachers with strategies to facilitate communication
• Participating in team meetings and professional development as needed
