Medical Laboratory Scientist - Clinical Laboratory

Description Medical Laboratory Scientist (Journeyman) required at Providence Seaside Hospital, Seaside, OR. This is a per diem/variable position. The Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist Journeyman is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. They perform pre‑analytical, analytical, and post‑analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, instrument maintenance, and problem resolution. They work with acute‑care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program or Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences. Upon hire: National Medical Laboratory Scientist or National Clinical Laboratory Scientist or National Medical Technologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology or American Medical Technologists). (Any of the credentials listed). 1 year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in a department in the laboratory or exceeds principal duties and functions in the MLS I job description. Preferred Qualifications 3 years Clinical laboratory experience in a moderate and high complexity laboratory. Why Join Providence?
