OCSE Student Assistant Specialist - ISSS Student Assistant of Communication and Engagement

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) assists international students and scholars to maintain their immigration records and also holds events for international students. We are currently seeking 1 Student Assistant of Communication and Engagement to assist with the operations of our office. This position is for 34 weeks and runs for the duration of the Academic Year - (start of the Fall semester until end of Spring semester). Student Assistant will not work during summer break, winter session, and spring break. The Student Assistant for Engagement will work closely with the ISSS Director to coordinate communication and engagement efforts of the international student community at The New School. This would include coordinating social media, Newsletter, event planning and coordinating, developing signage, and moderating webinars. Responsibilities ISSS Drop-in Advising moderating Coordinating social media Instagram posting Brevo Newsletters WhatsApp Assist with coordinating and setup of ISSS events Marketing ISSS events on Narwhal Nation and social media platforms Monitor ISSS events email inbox Generally assisting with other office tasks and special projects as necessary Minimum Qualifications Must be available to moderate virtual drop-in advising hours Tuesday and Thursday 1:55 - 4:05 Familiar and comfortable with social media platforms Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills Ability to develop good virtual and graphic designs Friendly and positive attitude Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, including sensitivity to cultural differences and working in diverse populations Must have completed at least 1 semester at The New School Preferred Qualifications Understand of international student processes at The New School Experience living or traveling abroad Flexible work schedule Position Details Position Hours: 10 hours per week Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour Work Mode: On-Campus Position - Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. #J-18808-Ljbffr newschool
