Project Manager – Low Voltage, Fiber & Telecommunications
Job Summary The Low Voltage / Fiber Project Manager will oversee small, specialized field crews (1-5 technicians) executing telecom infrastructure, low-voltage cabling, and fiber optic deployment projects. Reporting directly to a Senior Manager, this role is responsible for driving projects from site walk-throughs to final testing and sign-off—ensuring strict adherence to technical standards, safety, schedules, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage project scopes, bill of materials (BOM), fiber paths, and low-voltage cabling schedules.
- Supervise, guide, and support 1–5 low-voltage technicians and fiber splicing crews on active job sites.
- Coordinate project milestones, ISP/OSP routing, pathway installations, and material allocation to optimize crew productivity.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections ensuring compliance with industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, NEC) and site safety rules.
- Track project progress, performance metrics, OTDR/Fluke test results, and as-built documentation.
- Identify field issues, pathway obstructions, or scope changes promptly and resolve them with minimal downtime.
- Prepare and present detailed status and cost tracking reports to Senior Management.
- Facilitate client walk-throughs and attend weekly construction progress meetings.
- Maintain flexibility for project-driven schedules, including potential night shifts, extended hours, and regional travel across Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of project management or lead experience specializing in structured cabling, fiber optics (ISP/OSP), low-voltage systems, or telecommunications infrastructure.
- Familiarity with fiber testing (OTDR/LSPM), structured cabling installation standards, and low-voltage field operations.
- Hands-on experience with project scheduling tools, resource management, and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong team leadership, communication, and field problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel within Colorado and work flexible hours (including occasional night cuts or scheduled maintenance windows).
