The Koman Family Outpatient Pavilion is an outpatient clinical facility on UC San Diego Health\'s La Jolla campus. The facility includes eight surgery suites, basic and advanced imaging, physical therapy and pain management, plus infusion and apheresis services. This is a urology clinical/triage nurse position in the Koman Outpatient Pavilion Urology Center, primarily working with patients in medical and surgical oncology. The RN will focus on care coordination and management of oncology patients and provide direct patient care in the clinic setting, clinical triage, EPIC in-basket management, and direct communication with Providers. The RN will also provide coverage for sick calls and vacations for the urology nursing team. Strong communication and multitasking skills are required to collaborate with all urology healthcare teams and ensure optimal care for patients and families. Autonomous nursing care is expected to align with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, with independent judgment exercised within interdisciplinary approaches to patient care. Responsibilities Provide autonomous nursing care in the clinic setting, including assessment and nursing actions appropriate to patient care populations. Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple patient needs to support timely assessments, smooth transitions, and clear communication with patients and families. Perform direct patient care in the clinic, participate in clinical triage, and manage EPIC in-basket tasks. Provide coverage for sick calls and vacations for the urology nursing team. Communicate effectively with Providers and healthcare teammates to ensure optimal patient care. Minimum Qualifications Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. Must have a minimum of one (1) year of relevant active nursing experience. Demonstrates critical nursing thinking and clinical skills to identify and implement nursing interventions and evaluate results. Proven ability to coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams, managing multiple patient needs and ensuring timely assessments and communication with patients and families. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing. Preferred Qualifications BSN One (1) year Urology RN experience CURN (Certified Urology Registered Nurse) Oncology experience ACLS and/or ART certification Previous experience with triage/telephone triage Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the Medical Center\'s business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency and Requirements Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $190,342 - $190,342 (will be prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $91.16. Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. The Hiring Pay Scale references the budgeted salary or hourly range for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
