About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Ortho RN in Bowling Green, Kentucky, 42104!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Positive attitude Willingness to work hard Ability to manage a patient load Use of teamwork strategies Commitment to providing patient-centered care Description: The Med Surg unit consists of two specialty areas. The orthopedic area has 30 beds, while the medical surgical area has 37 beds. The typical patient-to-nurse ratio is usually 6:1. Technical support is provided by Patient Care Technicians and support personnel during the day shift. The documentation system used in the unit is Meditech. Schedules are created in a month-long increment. Full-time staff must work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts each month. Floating to other inpatient units and performing tasks in critical care and emergency departments is required. All levels of experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude and readiness to take on nursing duties. Teamwork and patient-centered care are core values of the unit. Some minor bedside procedures may be performed by medical staff but are less common than in critical care or emergency settings. The required uniform includes scrub tops and bottoms, with restrictions on additional clothing types. Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided to candidates upon hiring. Prospective candidates should be aware of the department's recognition and awards. Consideration for this unit includes new equipment, technology, staff experience, and scheduling options.
