General Description:

Responsible for overseeing TRS Therapy Services (Nest program) including hiring, supervision, program development, evaluation, and scheduling of clinicians in coordination Tewa Roots Society Leadership. The Clinical Director collaborates with other members of leadership to develop, plan, and implement strategies for collaboration, sustainability, and providing quality wraparound Therapy Services. The Clinical Director provides essential onboarding training and oversight to TRS Therapy Services staff. This position must strive to be in alignment with organizational values as well as maintain accountability for the overall success of the program, staff, and services. The Clinical Director provides both clinical and administrative supervision of the clinical department and staff. Must have an active professional therapy license in good standing, the ability to think strategically and uphold expectations with clarity, care and consideration. Additionally, the Clinical Director is responsible for ensuring oversight in the areas of licensing regulations, legal and ethical regulations, clinical supervision, quality assurance, sustainability goals and client welfare and satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, and corrective action of paid personnel within the clinical department. Ensure staff meet ethical standards (Professional and State Codes of Ethics).
  • Work with the Executive Director and Deputy Director in overseeing and executing deliverables for federal grants and IHS-related contracts
  • Develop system for prompt and reliable intake process to ensure client care provided in a timely manner
  • Oversee in patient rehabilitation referral process
  • Assess current clinical operations and ensure sustainability goals are met by contracted therapists and employed staff
  • Supervise and oversee all aspects of the Clinical Department in alignment with organizational values.
  • Ongoing oversight and evaluation of administrative and billing processes from intake through the discharge of a client (Intake paperwork, treatment planning, note audits, creation of superbill)
  • Collaborate with all other internal TRS program supervisors to ensure referral process and wraparound services have clear and efficient communication and system
  • Help to orchestrate program connection and growth geared toward program sustainability and longevity.
  • Signing off EMR Bear notes to ensure insurance payment and appropriate clinical documentation in a timely manner
  • Support and encourage Tewa Roots Society therapists and therapy staff to collaborate with Mother Earth, plants, water, horses and other more than human beings for counseling sessions as well as strategically coordinate trainings (with a training agreement) that
  • supports continuing education in the areas of adventure therapy, experiential learning, and group/grief therapy, equine therapy and mobile therapy
  • Coordination with the Clinical Systems Analyst and Executive Director in regards to contract negotiations, credentialing, and reporting
  • Regularly review and recommend changes in program offerings necessary toward addressing service gaps and meeting client needs with particular emphasis on services for Medicaid clients, Nambe Pueblo clients and Native clients in the Tewa region.
  • Provides oversight of program evaluation, and quality assurance functions for the department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients.
  • Work with other members of the management team to ensure successful communication and coordination between all Tewa Roots Society programs and Nambe Pueblo Governmental systems.
  • Regularly provide clinical training to clinical services staff and interns.
  • Contract development and oversight of independently licensed clinical staff
  • Participate in requirement efforts for clinical interns, conduct outreach, and maintain working relationships with graduate schools
  • Provide for or delegate clinical supervision of individual and/or group sessions for all non-independently licensed providers and interns. Maintain documentation of those sessions as per legal and ethical requirements
  • Provide regular clinical case staffing sessions with behavioral health providers and case managers.
  • Participate in a variety of available training related to professional development.
  • Ensure that case documentation complies with best practices
  • Assist staff and interns with urgent clinical situations and provide supervisory crisis coverage as needed
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy as needed
  • Represent Tewa Roots Society at meetings with community partners and report back to Leadership Team
  • Attend Tribal Council meetings as needed and collaborate with other Tribal Programs, Tribal Courts and community partners
  • Review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with particular emphasis on services of underserved populations, oversight of program evaluation, and quality assurance functions for the department including assessment of applicable ethical and professional requirements.
  • Any other duties according to the organization's needs

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, or Professional Counseling
  • Independently licensed in the state of New Mexico, LPCC, LCSW, LMFT with a supervisor designation
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience working in a mental health, substance use disorder, or dual diagnosis program and skilled in training, coaching, and mentoring multidisciplinary staff.
  • Preferred ten years of experience in mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, or related social services experience.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule in accordance with client and program needs.
  • Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written (also with the ability to meet required standards of documentation).
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records
  • Preferred experience working with Native American populations
  • Preference given to Native American applicants
  • Preference given to LCSW applicants
