Senior Software Engineer - Data Engineering

Role Description

U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer – Data Engineering in Irving, TX.

The Senior Software Engineer – Data Engineering will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of solutions that support digital and marketing initiatives. Responsibilities include:

• Create project proposals and designs that have considerable impact and span multiple systems.
• Evaluate scalability, reliability, and performance of systems and contexts when defining technical designs.
• Apply a thorough understanding of the business model to inform decisions within the product focus area.
• Analyze, design, and develop data-driven applications leveraging Python, Apache Spark, and Hadoop for large-scale data processing and analytics.
• Integrate and process data from multiple sources, including Hadoop, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), and ELZ, ensuring data consistency and quality.
• Optimize database performance through advanced query tuning, indexing, and schema design.
• Develop APIs and integration services for seamless data exchange between enterprise applications and platforms.
• Monitor and troubleshoot application performance using Splunk and Datadog, ensuring system reliability and proactive issue resolution.
• Implement scalable big data solutions, utilizing Spark for in-memory computation and Hadoop for distributed storage.
• Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.

Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple openings.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business Analytics or Engineering (any).
• 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in marketing automation and software development related to email, SMS, and push messaging platforms.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience with participating in all Architecture design discussions in setting up the Adobe campaign Tool.
• 5 years of experience developing email and SMS templates for real-time messaging platform.
• Involved in the initial discovery/analysis phase and story grooming for various projects for understanding during the project initiation phase.
• Tracking and reporting project metrics, and measurements based on the SLA.
• Creating Technical Specification Documents that define the business in technical terms.
• Creating and delivering the User Requirement Specification (URS) document, Business Technical Requirement Definition (BTRD) documents, and BSD (Business Specification Document).
• Designing and implementing broad log reports and data loading workflows.
• Implementing Accessibility code in Templates.
• Working with clients to identify campaign requirements to design and build campaigns.
• Supporting running campaigns and implementing enhancements over different Marketing campaigns.
• Experience with Adobe Campaign, SOAP, App Dynamics, WinSCP, JIRA, Service Now, and Splunk.
