Registered Dietitian II

Role Overview: The Registered Dietitian II provides individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients, serving as a clinical leader in a specialized area. They collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize nutrition care and improve patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assess patients for nutritional deficiencies and perform physical exams. Evaluate nutritional needs, including calories, protein, fluids, and electrolytes, to diagnose malnutrition. Manage nutrition plans for patients on oral diets, tube feedings, or parenteral nutrition, and write related orders. Provide counseling and education on disease management through nutrition therapy. Collaborate with providers and coordinate follow-up and documentation. Support educational programs and serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns and technicians. Contribute to departmental initiatives, committees, and projects. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field. Completion of a Dietetic Internship or Credentialed Program. Current Ohio Licensed Dietitian and active RD/RDN certification. Board Certification as a Nutrition Support Clinician or Certified Specialist in Pediatrics within two years. At least one year of clinical nutrition experience; or completion of an equivalent internship. Additional Requirements Ability to perform physical assessments and navigate hospital settings.
