Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Civil Engineer to join our established firm, specializing in small to mid-size residential and commercial projects in the greater Washington, D.C. area. With a healthy backlog and a history of over 1,250 successful projects, we offer an excellent opportunity for career growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager in planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects.
• Prepare grading, drainage, erosion and sediment control, stormwater, and utility plans using AutoCAD.
• Run design calculations for storm sewer and stormwater management systems and prepare them for project manager review.
• Draft comment response letters and revise plans following county and state reviews.
• Pull site data, surveys, and prior plans to identify site-related issues.
• Attend site visits to check existing conditions, participate in preconstruction meetings, and monitor construction progress.
• Coordinate with CAD staff, surveyors, architects, and contractors as directed by the project manager.

Essential Skills

• 3-5+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Word/Excel; familiarity with HydroCAD and Civil 3D is preferred.
• Experience in site development, civil design, drainage, site grading, stormwater management design, erosion control, sediment control, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• EIT Certification and/or PE License or ability to obtain within the next 6-12 months.
• Civil project experience in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and/or Montgomery County is a plus.

This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $140000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC.
