Packaging Engineer

Job Description & Skill Requirements The Packaging Engineer will support and lead packaging projects to ensure effective delivery of products to customers while optimizing the supply chain. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Packaging Design and Development: Create specialized packaging for heavy, irregular, or large components to protect against damage during shipping and storage. Logistics Optimization: Design returnable packaging systems (such as steel racks or custom dunnage) for internal and external suppliers, reducing expendable waste. Cross‑functional Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors, logistics, manufacturing, sourcing, and product engineering teams to develop efficient packaging that aligns with production lines. Cost Management: Evaluate packaging materials and designs to reduce overall packaging and transportation costs. Documentation: Maintain packaging specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and documentation within systems like SAP. Quality Control: Investigate damage reports to identify and fix failures in packaging design or supplier material packaging. Qualification Bachelor Degree in Packaging / Industrial Engineering, or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
