The Director of Wellness and Spa assumes executive responsibility for all logistical and strategic operations relating to guest satisfaction, Team Member engagement, and financial performance across the spa, pool, and wellness divisions. The role ensures the operation achieves targeted revenue and profitability goals while building and sustaining a loyal base of guests and team members consistent with AAA Five Diamond standards. Job Duties: Ensures spa, pool, and wellness guests are satisfied with services, experiences, and products while maintaining luxury service standards. Resolves escalated guest concerns and implements service recovery strategies to protect brand standards. Oversees the condition of spa and pool facilities, equipment, and guest areas, authorizes repairs, replacements, and capital improvements. Ensures all required licenses, certifications, and operational permits for spa, pool, and wellness functions are obtained, maintained, and audited for ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Identifies potential safety hazards and ensures all areas remain clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations. Partners with executive leadership to establish standards for service quality, financial performance, and operational excellence. Oversees administration of all operational systems including spa software, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools, leveraging data analytics to improve performance. Develops, manages, and executes departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Leads recruitment, selection, training, development, and retention strategies for all spa, pool, and wellness team members. Oversees performance management processes, including evaluations, coaching, corrective action, and succession planning. Facilitates continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest and employee experience. Monitors staffing levels, scheduling, and attendance to ensure operational efficiency and service coverage. Collaborates with Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and VIP services to drive revenue and integrated guest experiences. Oversees wellness programming, retail strategy, and revenue-generating initiatives. Provides emergency leadership coverage as needed and ensures readiness for operational disruptions. Attends meetings, leads departmental briefings, and completes all required reporting. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. 7 years’ spa, wellness, or resort operations experience, with 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience managing multi-department operations and large teams. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance. Experience in luxury resort or AAA Five Diamond environments strongly preferred. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach and develop team members while maintaining accountability. Proficiency in spa management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
